Ganga I
Ganga Maiya or Mother Ganga is the holiest of holy rivers. She is believed to purify all that is immersed and absorb the sins of all humanity. The work depicts her pristine nature at the very source, her then flowing into being the giver, the selfless provider, the pure and the fertile, till she finally immerses herself into the ocean.

To the artist she is the epitome of the unconditional love and purity of a mother. The work was inspired after the artist experienced an intense sense of purification after taking a dip in the exhilarating and chilling waters of the Ganga at Rishikesh.

Acrylic on canvas (36 X 80 DIPTYCH)
